DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE: ORIGINS writer Daniel Way comes to DCS Sept 16-17

A New York Times best-selling author, Daniel Way got his start in 2000 when he was awarded the prestigious Xeric Grant for VIOLENT LIFESTYLE, his first attempt at comic book writing. Only a few short months after that book was published, he was contacted by Marvel Comics and asked to write for them, eventually penning many of their top-selling titles including VENOM, GHOST RIDER, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, WOLVERINE: ORIGINS, ASTONISHING X-MEN and DEADPOOL, the character with whom he is most closely associated due to his 65-issue run on that title. In 2013, Mr. Way stepped away from working with Marvel in order to concentrate on creator-owned work, such as the upcoming graphic novel GUN THEORY (Dark Horse Comics) and the Kickstarter-funded graphic novel KILL-CRAZY NYMPHOS ATTACK!, co-created by twin filmmakers Jen and Sylvia Soska, though he still occasionally works on other properties, such as Mark Millar’s HIT-GIRL series. In addition to his work in comics, Mr. Way has also worked in video games (Activision’s DEADPOOL), television and film, having recently consulted on the DEADPOOL film at the personal request of the film’s director. He currently lives in North Carolina and Hawaii. This is Mr. Way’s first Dallas appearance, so let’s give him a warm Texas welcome!

Other notable titles featuring Daniel’s work include DAKEN: DARK WOLVERINE #1-9, DARK WOLVERINE #75-90, PUNISHER VS. BULLSEYE #1-4, SABRETOOTH (2004 series) #1-4, SUPREME POWER: NIGHTHAWK #1-6, THUNDERBOLTS (2013 series) #1-13, and various issues of WOLVERINE. He created the character of “Daken”, Wolverine’s son, who appeared in WOLVERINE: ORIGINS and eventually his own series.
