Anime voice actor for HEAVEN OFFICIAL’S BLESSING, ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM, ONE PIECE and more – James Cheek hits DCS December 16-17, 2023!

James Cheek is a Dallas-based actor with eight years of experience in the voice-over industry. He’s best known for his role as San Lang/Hua Cheng in FUNimation’s English dub of Heaven Official’s Blessing. HOB was the first Chinese animation (donghua) FUNimation ever dubbed. He’s worked on hit anime series such as Assassination Classroom, The Vision of Escaflowne, and One Piece. He’s also voiced in original animation. His most prominent role is John Sincock in the Annie-nominated short, Birdsong. Along with his animation credits, he’s also worked on video games and commercial projects. James is also an accomplished voice director and writer. He has directed and written multiple English dubs. He currently works as a staff writer for the anime juggernaut, Crunchyroll. The most recent series he’s written are Revengers and the second season of the hit anime series Vinland Saga. When not acting, writing, or directing, James is working on his projects. He also co-hosts the podcast, Guys and Dolls with his brother William.
