FAQ & RULES

We know you have questions, and there’s nothing wrong with that. We’re here to help. Please read below and look over the different categories. We’re betting just about anything you’d want to know is in here. And if for some reason we’re wrong, there’s going to be plenty of helpful staff members on site who will take care of ya. Most importantly we want everyone to remember this is a family show, so we expect people to behave themselves and treat each other with respect. We reserve the right to remove you from the event without refund if we feel you’re acting inappropriately. Look forward to seeing everyone this weekend for a great show!

Animals:
Sorry, but no pets are allowed inside the center. This is a city facility where city meetings are held, and we have to abide by their rules. Unless you have a service dog with papers to prove it, please leave your furry friends at home. We love animals, it’s nothing personal, but we have to follow Irving city procedures.

Costume Weapons:
If you are wearing a costume with a prop weapon, you will need to get that checked at the weapons check desk manned by Irving Police Officers. No real swords or knives will be allowed, prop guns must have red tips/barrels and pass full inspection.

Show hours:
See the next paragraph for times when you can pick up or buy tickets. The show opens at 10:30am to VIP ticket holders on Saturday morning, 10:45am to Two-Day pass holders, and 11am to the General Public. We close on Saturday at 7:00pm. On Sunday we open at 10:45am to VIP ticket holders, and at 11:00am to General Admission. The show closes Sunday at 5:00pm.

Tickets at the door:
If you purchased tickets in advance, go to Will Call when you arrive to pick them up. We will allow early pick up on Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, after that you’ll need to pick tickets up Saturday morning (or if you bought a Sunday ticket you can pick it up Sunday morning). If you purchased a Sunday ticket and want to upgrade to a Saturday or Two-Day pass, just let us know. We’ll open the doors for ticketing Saturday morning at 9:00am. On SUNDAY morning we open for ticket purchases and ticket pick-up at 10:00am. VIP gets in on Sunday at 10:45am, and 11am to all ticket holders. Bring your Growtix receipt from when you bought it, and check in with your ID. If you don’t have your receipt, we can still look you up by ID (if we have to do this is will take a few minutes), but we highly suggest you print the receipt and bring it.

Tickets sold at the door will be cash or credit card (on site credit card purchases will include a small processing fee + tax). There is an ATM right inside the door. While we realize a lot of people like to use credit and debit cards now, understand that most tables at the show will be cash only anyway, so bring cash with you to save yourself a trip to the ATM.  Read up about tickets HERE.

Media Guest Autographs:
Most media guests charge a fee for autographs, whether on their photos or your items – the price is PER autograph, so if you have four things, you pay that price four times. Expect most guests to take cash only. We’ve done our best to list autograph prices on the GUEST PAGE (just scroll down to the guest bios). Most guests have their own photos available to sign, but if there’s a particular shot you want autographed, there’s no guarantee they’ll have it, so you may want to consider getting it printed yourself. Typically the actors have a good selection at their table.

Media Guest Photo Ops:
If you want to purchase a professional photo op with you and a guest, you can do so on site at Wolf Photography sales table, located in the back left corner of the vendor hall. The charges for a photo op apply to ONE photo, and these sessions move fast. Please understand a photo op session is not meant to be a meet-and-greet. The line moves quickly so everyone can get through, so please be respectful of this.

Comic Book Artist prices:
Most comic book creators will sign books you bring for free, within reason. Some may charge a small fee per book. Please ask them directly if you’re unsure, or look for signs. If you want to commission your favorite artist for an original sketch, check with them on pricing, as the type of sketch can determine how much it will cost. Even if an artist signs for free, be mindful of other fans behind you. Please do not hold someone else up who only has one or two books so you can get 20 of yours signed.

Comic Book grading:
We will have two services on site that can professionally witness and accept comic books for a fee. Genuine COA can be found in the front hallway, and can provide certificates of authenticity and CBCS grading, but make sure you see them BEFORE you get your item signed. First Legacy Comics (our official CGC facilitator for the show) will also be on site accepting books for CGC and CGC Signature Series, but again, make sure you see them BEFORE you get an item autographed.

Q&A panels on the Alamo Drafthouse Q&A Stage:
If you haven’t seen the Q&A schedule, go here for that. The Q&A area has limited seating and usually fills up fast. If you really want to see a Q&A, be prepared to line up early. Please note, the area is cleared after each session and reloaded. VIP ticket holders get priority seating, but must be at a panel at least 15 minutes early to take advantage of this. Flash photography is okay but please don’t be excessive with it as it can be annoying to the talent. Filming is okay unless and actor requests no filming, in which case we’ll announce this to the audience before the panel starts. During the Q&A sessions, we take questions from the audience – please no requests for autographs, selfies, hugs, or anything else if you’re called on. Questions only, and please keep your questions short and concise so we can get through as many as possible. If you bring food or drink into the Q&A area, please take your trash out with you.

Food:
The convention center does not allow outside food or drink, but the do have multiple concession stands where you can purchase food on site. We were not able to secure a food truck this time.

Parking (this is important):
The Irving Convention Center parking garage has approximately 800 parking spaces – parking is $8 whether it’s in the garage or outside on their lots. The garage will fill up fast. If you arrive mid-day you may have to park in an extended lot or field. We do not control parking, this is handled by the center. Here’s the address for the center:
