We know you have questions, and there’s nothing wrong with that. We’re here to help. Please read below and look over the different categories. We’re betting just about anything you’d want to know is in here. And if for some reason we’re wrong, there’s going to be plenty of helpful staff members on site who will take care of ya. Most importantly we want everyone to remember this is a family show, so we expect people to behave themselves and treat each other with respect. We reserve the right to remove you from the event without refund if we feel you’re acting inappropriately. Look forward to seeing everyone this weekend for a great show!
Sorry, but no pets are allowed inside the center. This is a city facility where city meetings are held, and we have to abide by their rules. Unless you have a service dog with papers to prove it, please leave your furry friends at home. We love animals, it’s nothing personal, but we have to follow Richardson city procedures.
See the next paragraph for times when you can pick up or buy tickets. The show opens at 10:45am to VIP ticket holders on Saturday morning, 11am to Two-Day pass holders. We close on Saturday at 7:00pm. On Sunday we open at 10:45am to VIP ticket holders, and at 11:00am to General Admission. The show closes Sunday at 5:00pm.
Tickets at the door:
If you purchased tickets in advance, go to Will Call when you arrive to pick them up Saturday morning. If you purchased a Sunday ticket and want to upgrade to a Saturday or Two-Day pass, just let us know. We’ll open the doors for ticketing Saturday morning at 9:30am. Check in with your ID.
Tickets sold at the door will be cash OR credit card, and there is an ATM just inside the door. While we realize a lot of people like to use credit and debit cards now, understand that most tables at the show will be cash only, so bring cash with you to save yourself a trip to the ATM. Read up about tickets HERE. There is no Saturday Only ticket, we lowered the price of a Two-Day pass to what a Saturday Only ticket used to cost, so now if you come back on Sunday, you pay nothing additional, and if not you still got a good deal.
Media Guest Autographs:
Most media guests charge a fee for autographs, whether on their photos or your items – the price is PER autograph, so if you have four things, you pay that price four times. Expect most guests to take cash only. We’ve done our best to list autograph prices on the GUEST PAGE (just scroll down to the guest bios). Most guests have their own photos available to sign, but if there’s a particular shot you want autographed, there’s no guarantee they’ll have it, so you may want to consider getting it printed yourself. Typically the actors have a good selection at their table.
Media Guest Photo Ops:
If you want to purchase a professional photo op with you and a guest, you can do so on site at Wolf Studios Photography’s sales table, located in the Celebrity Guest alcove. The charges for a photo op apply to ONE photo, and these sessions move fast. Please understand a photo op session is not meant to be a meet-and-greet. The line moves quickly so everyone can get through, so please be respectful of this.
Comic Book Artist prices:
Most comic book creators will sign books you bring for free, within reason. Some may charge a small fee per book. Please ask them directly if you’re unsure. If you want to commission your favorite artist for an original sketch, check with them on pricing, as the type of sketch can determine how much it will cost. Even if an artist signs for free, be mindful of other fans behind you. Please do not hold someone else up who only has one or two books so you can get 20 of yours signed.
Comic Book grading:
We will have two services on site that can professionally witness and accept comic books for a fee. Genuine COA can be found in the front hallway, and can provide certificates of authenticity and CBCS grading, but make sure you see them BEFORE you get your item signed. Dork Buzz (our official CGC facilitator for the show) will also be on site accepting books for CGC and CGC Signature Series, but again, make sure you see them BEFORE you get an item autographed. Dork Buzz is located inside the vendor hall in the back left corner.
Q&A panels in the Alamo Drafthouse Q&A Chamber:
If you haven’t seen the Q&A schedule, go here for that. The Q&A room has limited seating and will fill up fast. If you really want to see a Q&A, be prepared to line up early. Please note, the room is cleared after each session and reloaded. VIP ticket holders get priority seating, but must be at a panel at least 15 minutes early to take advantage of this. Flash photography is okay but please don’t be excessive with it as it can be annoying to the talent. Filming is okay unless and actor requests no filming, in which case we’ll announce this to the audience before the panel starts. During the Q&A sessions, we take questions from the audience – please no requests for autographs, selfies, hugs, or anything else if you’re called on. Questions only, and please keep your questions short and concise so we can get through as many as possible. We’re using the council chambers of the Richardson Civic Center, and there is NO FOOD OR DRINK allowed inside, however you are allowed bottles of water, just please take your trash out with you.
The charity auction on Saturday and the Costume Contest on Sunday will be held inside the Richardson Room, which is located in the left hallway from where you come in, to the left of registration.
Alamo Drafthouse Richardson special screenings:
We’ve got four different special screenings happening at Alamo Drafthouse Richardson, located off Belt Line Road and 75. You must purchase individual tickets through their website for these screenings. Talent from the show will be on hand for Q&A sessions before or after the films, though there will be no autographs or photos at the theater. 30 DAYS OF NIGHT with Steve Niles Q&A happens Friday night at 9:00pm, TANK GIRL with Lori Petty intro Q&A happens Saturday night at 7:30pm, and SUPER TROOPERS with Erik Stolhanske and UNDERWORLD with Kevin Grevioux happens Sunday night at 6pm (for TROOPERS and 7pm (for UNDERWORLD). Buy tickets now as we expect these to sell out.
We were able to secure a food truck this time, Susie Sue’s BBQ, which will be parked out front both Saturday and Sunday, and there’s a Golden Chick within short walking distance from the entrance, and other fast food places just past it. The center also has drink and snack machines at the end of the hall in the Fun Zone / Rest Area.
Parking (this is important):
The Richardson Civic Center and connected library collectively has approximately 600 parking spaces – parking is FREE. These will fill up fast. If you arrive mid-day you may have to park in an extended lot. There is a Church across from the center (South and West of the facility on Custer – take Belle Grove to Custer and take a left on Custer) which has said parking there in not a problem on Saturday, though no early parking on Sunday as the last largest service ends at Noon and Sunday school ends at 1:00 p.m. The lot to use is the one West of Custer across from the main church campus. It has roughly 300 spots.
Almost Everything on the South side of Belle Grove (the Post Office, Bank, School & other independent businesses) are park at your own risk, but we and the Civic Center have never seen anyone towed. Just understand WE are not suggesting you park there. The Post Office and the bank’s drive thru are both open from 9am to Noon on Saturday and closed on Sunday.
The Chamber there only has 30 spots that are strictly theirs and the rest are shared space with other business.
